Violators of guidelines put in place by Edo State Government to check the spread of infectious coronavirus disease in the state are in trouble as the state judiciary has constituted mobile courts to try such offenders.

Offenders would be tried under the Edo State Dangerous Infectious Diseases (Emergency Prevention) Regulations 2020.

Governor Godwin Obaseki had on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, signed the Quarantine Regulations, made pursuant to Section 8 of the Quarantine Act, the Public Health Law and other legislation.

It gives legal sanctions to the response actions of the Edo State Government to the COVID-19 pandemic.
