Former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Maraouane Fellaini has left the hospital after testing positive for the novel Coronavirus almost a month ago.
The Belgian who plays for Chinese club Shandong Luneng has been in hospital receiving treatment for the past three weeks and was discharged after testing negative for the virus.
“Fellaini was assessed and was deemed to have recovered, and was discharged today,” Shandong football club said in a brief statement on Tuesday.
The midfielder also shared a picture with nurses at the hospital to appreciate their efforts, he wrote;
“The time has come for me to thank from the bottom of my heart, the medical staff of the hospital, their nursing staff as well as my Club and its medical staff for taking such good care of me with so much kindness and for ensuring my comfort whilst there. The hardest part is behind me!
“Let’s keep fighting, it’s important!❤️❤️❤️ @lunengtaishan,” he added.

The 32-year-old Shandong Luneng midfielder, the only Chinese Super League (CSL) player known to have contracted the disease will now spend 14 days in quarantine for further observation.

He contracted the virus after returning last month to China and joins a long list of football personalities like Blaise Matuidi, Hudson Odoi, Mikel Arteta who have recovered from the disease.
