Fake News: Kano didn't record seven new coronavirus cases

Kano State Government on Tuesday denounced reports on social media that it recorded seven new Coronavirus cases in the State.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, had on Monday reported that Kano had three confirmed cases of Coronavirus,

But on Tuesday, report went round that Kano had confirmed seven new cases of Coronavirus, making it a total of 10.

However, Kano State Ministry of Health, on its twitter handle on Tuesday said there was nothing like that as the report was simply Fake News.

“The confirmed COVID-19 case as of Tuesday, 14th April 2020, 3:28pm still remains at 3 CASES. The Public should disregard any FAKE AND MISLEADING NEWS,” it said.

Last week, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje announced the first case of Coronavirus in Kano, saying it was a 75-year old former Nigerian Ambassador.
