Some Nigerians have reacted to the accelerated increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases in Kano as the state records first death.
Kano State had recorded twelve new cases of Coronavirus out of 34 new cases with the total figures jumping to 407 in the country.
The State Government also disclosed that the pandemic has claimed its first victim in the state.
According to Kano State Ministry of Health on its twitter handle this early Thursday morning, the death was recorded at about 11:55 pm on Wednesday.
Reacting, Nigerians took to the social media, stating that the development was highly worrisome.
In several tweets, some expressed worries that the outbreak will not be ending anytime soon and that the lockdown will likely be extended because of the rise in the confirmed cases in Kano within just 48 hours.
Others alleged that the figures were increased because the state wants to get COVID-19 allocations.
Check out some reactions gathered by PM News:
Once coronavirus enters community transmission stage in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and other states, just know that we are in trouble. I earnestly pray God should just have mercy on us and let this cup pass over Nigeria 🇳🇬.

God please take control in Kano and the nation at large. The growing figures are scary and I'm not sure we are ready for this.

Saying COVID-19 has the potential to spread like wildfire in the North is not something to do tribal war about…its the truth.
I'm not surprised Kano jumped from 1 to 12 cases in 48 hours.
Governors of Northern states should seriously aim at preventing an index case if not…

Another problem in Kano is the distrust for vaccines and tests after the Pfizer episode. More people will start rejecting tests/isolation.
