Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River: reinforces “no entry, no exit” directive with neighbouring states.

The Cross River Government on Tuesday reinforced it “no entry, no exit” directive with neighbouring states in a bid to ensure a coronavirus free state.

Gov. Ben Ayade gave the directive while addressing security operatives and other support staff at Gakem-Benue Border on Tuesday in Gakem, Cross River.

The governor, who was represented by Mr Signor Idiege, Commissioner for Youth Development and Skills Acquisition, said his administration’s only concern was to keep Cross River and her residents safe from coronavirus.

The state as of April 27 has yet to record an index case of coronavirus.

The governor had recalled his aides assigned to different boundary posts, except the Itu Bridge Post, due to poor enforcement of the lockout.

Ayade said that the efforts must be sustained and supported without a compromise.

“Nobody irrespective of status will be allowed to leave or come into the state through the Gakem-Benue boundary or any other.

“Since all the states bordering Cross River have cases of the Coronavirus, there must be strict adherence to boundary lockdown and other safety measures to remain safe,” he said.
