Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has condoled with the Government and people of Sokoto State over the exit of Dr. Haliru Alhassan who passed on at the age of 66 years.

The late Alhassan served in the administration of Jonathan as minister of state for health and later minister of health.

In a condolence message to the family of the deceased, the former President described Dr. Alhassan as a committed patriot who made his mark in public service, adding that he “served the nation to the best of his abilities.”

Jonathan noted that the late minister contributed so much to the efforts towards reforming the health sector and the overall improvement recorded in the sector under his administration.

He further recalled that late Dr. Alhassan played a key role in the nation’s success in combating and containing Ebola during the 2014 outbreak.

The former President prayed to God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
