The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) (Osun Command) on Tuesday advised motorists to adhere to government directives on the use of face masks and physical distancing.

The FRSC said that obeying the guidelines as set by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) would help prevent further spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Ag. Sector Commander, Mr Rasaq Salam, gave the advice during an enlightenment and sensitisation tour of motor parks in Osogbo, to ensure compliance with government directives.

Salam visited Lagos Garage Park, Okefia-Roundabout and Aregbe Bus-Stop, along Osogbo-Ibadan expressway as well as other motor parks in the state.

He commended the high level of compliance by many road users and urged drivers at the motor parks to show good example to passengers through the use of face masks and ensuing physical distancing.

The Ag. sector commander also commended the state government’s initiative of ensuring that the spread of the disease was curtailed through safety measures.

He further commended the efforts of other security agencies for their collaboration with the command to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Salam, however, appealed to road users to obey government directives and ensure that the NCDC guidelines on the usage of face masks and keeping physical distance was adhered to.
