Former U.S. President Barack Obama has issued a statement deploring the killing of on Monday #GeorgeFloyd, an African American.
Floyd died after he was pinned down by a white policeman in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“This shouldn’t be ‘normal’ in 2020 America,” he wrote. 
“It can’t be ‘normal.’ If we want our children to grow up in a nation that lives up to its highest ideals, we can and must be better.”
Obama noted that while some Americans are eager to return to normal life, amidst the pandemic, they have to remember millions of Americans who live tragic, painful and maddening normal life of being treated differently on account of race.
