Governor Babagana Zulum has briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the dire security situation in his state of Borno.

He gave the briefing at a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday morning.

In recent days, Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters have staged daring attacks on some towns, the latest of which was Mainok.

Seven Nigerian soldiers were killed by the well armed insurgents.

They came in as many as 10 gun trucks and attacked the Super camp of the military.

Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno in an interview with the mediamen, expressed deep condolences to the families of soldiers who recently died in the fight against terrorists.

“I think it is my own responsibility to come and say the truth to the President, to let him know what is going on in the entire North-East sub-region.

“I think there is a need for us to get support in order for us to succeed in this war against insurgents.

“It is very pathetic; a few days ago, Damasak (Borno) was attacked, hundreds of people started fleeing Damasak and now, Geidam (Yobe) is almost deserted because many people have left Geidam.”
