Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded an uptick of COVID-19 in Nigeria as it announced 156 new cases on Tuesday.

The new cases jacked Nigeria’s caseload to 164,912.

NCDC also announced one new death. The national death toll in the country now stands at 2,063.

The new infections were recorded in 10 states and the FCT, and there may not be a cause to worry as some states reported accumulated figures.

Lagos recorded 50 cases, but Enugu’s 43 and Adamawa’s 40 came from data for many days.

Enugu’s was for 20th- 26th of April.

Adamawa State cases were recorded over two weeks.

The FCT Abuja had eight cases, Ogun five, while Akwa-Ibom and Plateau had three each.

Jigawa, Rivers, Oyo and Kaduna also reported one case each.

The agency said that a total of 49 COVID-19 patients have been discharged across the country in last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 155,012.

COVID-19 cases in Nigeria have taken a downward trend for many weeks.

From 22 April, when 100 cases were announced, daily cases up till 27 April have been between 35 and 51.

On 23 April, 45 cases were recorded and 51 on 24 April.

Thirty-five cases were reported on 25 April and 37 on 26 April.
