The Nigerian Navy has cancelled events to mark its 65th anniversary to honour Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru and 11 other crash victims.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo gave the order, spokesperson for the Nigerian Navy, Commodore Suleman Dahun said.
“The CNS commiserates with the nation and offers the condolences of officers and ratings of the Nigerian Navy to Mr President, the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force as well as families of the departed.
“May their souls rest in peace,” he said.
Dahun said that the death of Attahiru, a service chief had put the army, navy, air force and the entire defence circle in sober mood.
