Former Jigawa State lawmaker, Haladu Bako Uza who represented Auyo constituency at the Jigawa State House of Assembly has been kidnapped.
The ex-lawmaker was reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen along Kano-Hadejia road on Wednesday night.
Bako was said to be on his way to his hometown Auyo, from Kano State when the incident happened.
The PDP member was a lawmaker from 2007 to 2015.
ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, spokesperson for the Jigawa State police command confirmed the incident.
He said that the incident occurred when the gunmen, numbering about five, blocked Ringim to Gujungu town and robbed motorists.
ASP Lawan explained that the hoodlums also shot one motorist in the process.
He revealed that after the incident, Police officers rushed o the scene of the incident and recovered empty bullet shells.
A patrol team has been mobilised to rescue the victim, the police spokesperson revealed.
