Super Eagles striker Iheanacho says he is ready for next season

Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed readiness for next season, noting that he continues to get in better shape ahead of kick-off.

This is as Leicester City search for their first pre-season victory after they had faced Burton Albion and Wycombe Wanderers.

The foxes are to face Queens Park Rangers on Saturday which is supposed to be their toughest pre-season game so far, but Iheanacho says Leicester are ready for the encounter.

“It’s been amazing,” the Nigeria striker told LCFC TV, discussing the training camp. “We’ve been working really hard. You know, obviously, it’s pre-season, so we need to work hard and get minutes and prepare for this season. We’ve been working really hard and preparing ourselves, so it’s going quite well.

“I’m getting fitter day by day and I think everybody is getting fitter. We’re getting there and, before the season starts, everybody will be ready to crack on.

The Foxes finished in fifth position in the Premier League last season, narrowly missing out on a Champions League place for the second consecutive season.

Leicester would open the footballing season in England on Saturday, August 7 when they face Manchester City in the community shield.
