Bandits attack Imo police station; 4 killed

Armed bandits have again attacked another police station in Imo State killing a police inspector.

According to police, the bandits attacked the Orsu police station on Thursday with explosives and petrol bombs.

The attack resulted in severe damage to the roof of the station and vehicles parked in the station.

However, the bandits were repelled by the Imo police command’s tactical team.

Three bandits were neutralized during the gun duel and one pump action gun and two locally-made double barrel pistols were recovered.

CSP Michael Abattam on Friday said other bandits escaped into the bush with bullet wounds.

He, however, called on residents of the state to assist with credible information that would aid the arrest of the other bandits.
