Oyetola declares Monday public holiday in Osun

Gov. Gboyega Oyetola has declared Monday, 9 August as a public holiday in Osun to commemorate the Islamic new year.
The new year in Islam is Hijrah 1443 AH.
Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Tajudeen Lawal announced this on Friday in Osogbo.
The governor enjoined Muslims and people of other faiths to pray for the growth and development of the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Hijrah is the first day in the Islamic New Year Calendar.
