Kidnappers release Bayelsa nightclub owner; abduct his wife, father-in-law

Mr. Tari Ajanami, the owner of a popular nightclub in Bayelsa state, has been released by his abductors.

However, Vanguard reported that his wife and 74-year-old father-in-law who took N15 million ransom to the kidnappers were detained.

According to the report, the incident happened at the exchange point in Ahaoda Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The ransom exchange which was kept away from the security agencies took place at about 11.45 pm Thursday.

It turned awry when the kidnappers insisted on the completion of the demanded N200m ransom and held unto the ransom couriers which were the victim’s wife and father-in-law.

Vanguard reported that a family source confirmed the incident.

However, the Bayelsa State Police command said they are not aware of the incident.

Butswat Asinim, the command’s public relation officer, when contacted by PM News, said;

“We are not aware. The family did not report any case to us.”

However, the Rivers state police command could not be reached.
