The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to publish the sponsors of Boko Haram insurgency.

NUJ made the call via a communique issued on Saturday at the end of the meeting of its National Executive Council in Abuja.

The Federal Government had earlier vowed to reveal names of some Nigerians who were sponsoring Boko Haram insurgency and other criminal activities in the country.

NUJ appealed to the Federal Government to publish the names without further delay.

The union’s communique was signed by Abdullahi Isma Yamadi (Secretary Zone A) Adetona Aderoboye (Chairman, Ondo Council) and Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe (Secretary, Abia Council).

The union also urged the Federal Government to ensure the release of students who were kidnapped in Niger State.

The union further urged the federal government to summon stakeholders meeting in order to avoid impending food scarcity.

It also called on the central government to allow state to establish police to tackle the security challenges in the their areas.
