Katsina State government has threatened to sue the Nigeria Customs Service over the killings of residents during border drills in the state.
The threat comes after 10 residents were recently killed in Jibia during another border drill in the state.
A statement by the Governor’s Director-General Media, Abdulabaran Malumfashi, noted that the state governor, Aminu Masari condemns the frequent killings of innocent residents in the State.
He noted that the Stat would no longer condone any more of such incidents again.
According to Abdulabaran, the state is considering legal action against the Nigerian Customs Service to serve as deterrent against future occurrence.
He said the governor also condoled with families of the deceased and those who sustained injuries.
Abdulabaran stated that Katsina State would not fold its arm while law-abiding citizens were killed by government agents who ought to protect them.
