Godwin Maduka speaks on why he dumped PDP

Godwin Maduka, candidate of Accord Party in the coming Anambra governorship election has said he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party because of injustice.

Maduka was formerly a PDP member. He wanted to contest under the PDP platform previously until he jumped ship and joined Accord Party.

The Accord Party aspirant alleged that PDP’s delegate list was changed three times while the party’s primary was ongoing, calling the process a selection rather than an election.

“I was in the hall when the list was changed three times or more; and basically, selection was made. Election never really happened. It was a selection. But that’s fine.

While speaking on Saturday in his party office along the Enugu -Onitsha expressway in Awka, he declared that he can’t be stopped from contesting from winning the election.

He also expressed optimism that party members in the PDP and the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) would vote for him in the election.

“Even though I’ve left PDP, but I’m optimistic that many people in the party, as well as APGA and other political parties, will cast their votes for me on November 6.”

Maduka would be running alongside Mr. Ken Obi, as his deputy in the November 6 election in Anambra.

The accord party aspirant was unveiled as the gubernatorial candidate for the party on Thursday by Accord Chairman in the state, Chief Bartholomew Igwedibia.
