Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has urged members not to abandon the struggle, despite his incarceration.
His younger brother, Emmanuel conveyed Kanu’s behind-the-bars message after his first meeting with him, since Kanu was seized in June in Kenya and flown to Nigeria.
Emmanuel, along with Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor met with Kanu today at the DSS headquarters in Abuja, where he is being detained.
Emmanuel said Kanu “is in high spirits and now more determined than ever in getting Biafra.”
He said that Kanu had been praying fervently for all Biafrans and sent his greetings and warm felicitations to all Biafrans for their firm support towards him.
Emmanuel also said that his brother urged all Biafrans to keep the Biafran spirit alive, expressing optimism that the Biafra Republic will soon be restored irrespective of the antics of the ‘enemies’.
“He’s in high spirits and appreciates all the support from all Biafrans home and abroad,” he said.
Ejiofor first hinted about the visit, in a Facebook post, but declined to reveal much, saying Emmanuel would do that.
However, Ejiofor said Kanu remains in strong spirits.
The post read: “We just concluded today’s routine visit on a very sound note. What made today’s visit unique is that today marks it the first Day Our Client -Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is setting his eyes on his sibling.
“In my company during the Family’s maiden visit to Our Client is Prince Emmanuel Kanu (Fine Boy), the Representative of Our Client’s family.
“Our Client- Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is very strong in spirit.

“Our Client- Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was visibly shocked by the unwarranted embarrassment, insults and criticism meted out to his Lawyers by those who should know better.
“Discipline he emphasised is the watchword, which is apparently lacking today.
“If at this point in time people who deliberately choose to be mischief makers, are throwing accusations and insults on his Solicitors, he wonders when they will learn.
“Note for the umpteenth time for those who care to listen, that nothing on the face of this earth will make us compromise or change our ways. We are whiter than white! Thank you and God bless you all.”
