English broadcaster Piers Morgan says he was not shocked about the news of Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford.
The 36-year-old Portugal international was heading to the blue half of Manchester before a sudden development on Friday.
The Portuguese now finds himself back at Old Trafford where he once spent six successful years.
Morgan, who had an exclusive one-on-one interview with Ronaldo last year said that his return to the Red Devils was actually facilitated by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 56-year-old tweeted: “Not surprised that [Ronaldo] is returning to United after speaking to Sir Alex Ferguson.
“When I interviewed him, his respect & admiration for ‘The Boss’ was off the charts.
“He’s been like a second father to him, especially since the sad early death of Cristiano’s dad.”
