Mr Gbenga Oyerinde, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Central Business District, has disclosed that CBD in conjunction with LAWMA has begun the evacuation of waste from the Lagos Island Business District.

Oyerinde disclosed this on Saturday while coordinating the evacuation of huge refuse at martins street by Fred Macween St. junction, Lagos Island.

He noted that in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s “THEMES” agenda and his administration’s vision of achieving a Cleaner Lagos, CBD has made adequate preparation in conjunction with LAWMA to regularly evacuate refuse within Lagos Island at night.

He further disclosed that Tom Jones junction/Alli Balogun to Martins Street now have a dedicated truck for night and day evacuation of refuse.

While commending the prompt response of LAWMA in evacuating huge refuse dumped at Martins Street, the Special Adviser called on residents and business owners within the Lagos Island Business District to desist from indiscriminate dumping of waste on roads and setbacks.

He appealed to them to desist from acts that were inimical to achieving the cleaner Lagos vision of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration by bagging their waste properly and patronise only registered and assigned PSP operators in their domain.
