Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has said people accusing Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State of paying N20 billion into a fixed deposit account are agent of Satan.
A federal high court sitting in Lagos had on Tuesday frozen a Kogi state salary bailout account domiciled in Sterling Bank Plc, over a N20 billion loan obtained from the bank.
Abass Muhammed, counsel to the EFCC, told the court that the order was necessary so as to preserve the ‘res’ (the fund in question) and abate further dissipation of the funds in the account.
Reacting to this development on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode said he had confidence in Bello that he never paid N20 billion of public funds into a fixed deposit account.
He said those peddling these specious lies and slanderous falsehood were agents of Satan from the pit of hell.
Fani-Kayode said their attempt to discredit and destroy him had failed.
In his words: “I have faith and confidence in my friend and brother Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state. He never paid N20 billion of public funds in a fixed deposit account.
“Those that are peddling these specious lies and slanderous falsehood are agents of Satan from the pit of hell. Their attempt to discredit and destroy him has failed.
“Those that believe that Yahaya would fix 20 billion Naira of public funds in a fixed deposit account do not know him.
“He is a man of profound decency and integrity. I am sorry for those that are peddling this falsehood. I advise them to try something else: this one has failed woefully!”
