The Department of State Services in a dramatic move, today charged Amudat Babatunde, one of the two aides of Sunday Igboho, with Facebook terrorism.

The second aide, Oyetunji was charged with possession of arms and terrorism.

The two aides were among the 12 arrested by the DSS in a raid of Igboho’s home in Ibadan on 1 July.

Despite a court order granting bail to all the 12, the DSS, initially released eight of the aides.

Then it released another two on Friday and held tight to the remaining two.

Amidst threat by the aides’ lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi to commit the DSS boss for contempt, the secret police came up with the charge today.

Olajengbesi, described the charges as baseless, vexatious, shameful and without limbs.

No date has been fixed for the hearing of the case.

The suit no. FHC/ABJ/CR/305/2021, dated August 31, 2021 was filed by the DSS lawyer, Mr S.M. Bello.

The DSS alleges that Oyetunji was in possession of fire arms for terrorism-related activities while Amudat is alleged to have promoted terrorism through her Facebook account.
