Ronaldo was never close to Man City deal – Solskjaer

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dismissed reports that Cristiano Ronaldo was close to joining Manchester City before he signed again for the Red Devils.

“I don’t think there was any prospect of that,” Solskjaer told reporters on Saturday.

“I don’t think so.”

Ronaldo has been training with the Red Devils this week and will make his second debut in Saturday’s meeting with Newcastle United.

However, Solskjaer remained tight-lipped over whether the Portugal international would start or come off the bench.
