Bayern Munich Coman undergoes heart surgery

Bayern Munich winger, Kingsley Coman underwent minor heart surgery on Thursday after complaining of a shortage of breath during training.

Manager, Julian Nagelsmann revealed this on Friday during a press conference.

Coman who is currently locked in contract talks with the club has been battling various injuries over the past few weeks.

He has only played for 38 minutes so far this season for the club.

According to Nagelsmann, Coman was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat and went under the knife to help manage the issue.

“Kingsley Coman underwent surgery yesterday,” he began.

“His heartbeat rhythm had a slight disturbance with a minor added beat. At times he had a slight shortage of breath. That’s why we opted for long-term ECG monitoring and went ahead with this procedure.

“It’s not that unusual. Several people have it. He said every now and then that he wasn’t always breathing so perfectly. Then there were several tests, including a long-term ECG.

Coman’s absence will see Leroy Sane keep his spot on the left wing, with Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala and Marcel Sabitzer competing for a place on the right.
