Prominent Warri chief Dr Charles Ikomi dies

One of the prominent chiefs of Warri, Ero of Warri kingdom, Dr Charles Ikomi is dead.

Chief Ikomi was one of the foremost supporters of the new Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, before his coronation.

Chief Ikomi’s death was confirmed, on Thursday, by his brother, Eugene Ikomi.

Eugene Ikomi the Olulaye of Warri kingdom and Secretary, Warri Council of Chiefs, described the death of his elder brother as painful.

Chairman of the Warri Council of Chiefs and Iyatsere of the kingdom, Chief Johnson Amatserunleghe, commiserated with the family of the deceased and the entire Warri Kingdom.

Chief Amatserunleghe, described Ikomi as a very strict, disciplined and generous Itsekiri leader.

“We will miss him greatly. We are in shock over the death. He was a very disciplined and generous Itsekiri leader. He was the Treasurer of the Olu Advisory Council. We will miss him greatly,“ Amatserunleghe said.
