Yusuf Sununu joins Osinbajo-led Health Reform Committee

Sununu had served as Secretary-General of the Nigerian Medical Association and Associate Member of the World Medical Association.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the inclusion of Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu as the representative of the House of Representatives on the Health Sector Reform Committee.

Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity said Sununu is the Chairman of, House of Representatives Committee on Healthcare Services.

He had served as a past Secretary-General of the Nigerian Medical Association and Associate Member of the World Medical Association.

Under the Chairmanship of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the committee has members drawn from private and public sector health care management professionals, development partners, representatives from the National Assembly as well as the Nigeria Governors Forum among others.

The committee, which is set up for six months, will undertake a review of all healthcare reforms.

These reforms were adopted in the past two decades and with lessons learnt, the committee will factor them into the development of the new Health Sector Reform Programme.
