Daily Covid-19 cases have fallen for the second successive day in Nigeria, with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, announcing 336 cases for Saturday.

On Friday, out of the samples tested, only 337 were confirmed to be positive.

Indications that the country may be witnessing a recession of the virus can be gleaned from the report for Lagos: its daily cases have been tumbling.

Lagos, which has been the epicentre of the virus since last year February, recorded 173 cases on 16 September.

On 17 September, the state recorded 142 cases and on Saturday the daily numbers further crashed to 86.

Lagos has been thee most affected by the COVID-19 and had logged till date, 75,733 cases and 664 deaths.

Active cases are 2,719, out of the national total of 9,039.
