Organisers of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, have confirmed Naomi Osaka’s withdrawal from next month’s game.

Earlier this month, the four-time Grand Slam champion had said she was considering taking an indefinite break from tennis.

“I honestly don’t know when I’m going to play my next tennis match,” Naomi Osaka said following her third-round defeat to Canadian teen Leylah Fernandez.

“I think I’m going to take a break from playing for a while” she added.

Osaka, who has been open about her mental health, has taken a few hits in recent times from early exit at the U.S Open, withdrawing from the French Open to skipping Wimbledon.
