Katsina ruling houses are one, united, says Emir of Katsina

The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminu Kabir-Usman, has said the two ruling houses in Katsina Emirate in Katsina State, Dallazawa and Sullubawa are one and a united family.

The emir stated this at the opening of the 2021 Dallazawa annual conference convened to commemorate the Sokoto Jihad in Katsina.

The emir, who was represented by Prof. Lugga, stressed that the two houses were always working together in moving the emirate and the Katsina State forward.

He said: “I am assuring you that these two houses, Dallazawa and Sullubawa are one family and are also working together towards the development of the people and the state.

“Therefore, I am calling on members of the two dynasties to continue to be working in the same direction in the interest of Katsina State.

“From the Shehu Usman Fodio jihad, up to the end of the world, these two dynasties must be reckoned with hence, there is the need for them to remain united.’’

However, Prof. Sambo Junaidu, who represented the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, said the conference was a very good development.

He stated that Ummarun Dallaje (Ummaru of Dallaje) was the 39th Islamic leader of Katsina and the first Fulani emir, as well as the patriarch of the Dallazawa dynasty.

In his address of welcome earlier, Chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, Dr. Sani Abdu, said “members of the dynasty are spread across the globe, therefore the conference is important.’’

He added that the annual conference was aimed at reuniting members of the family across the state, the country and the diaspora.

“Such annual conference will also bring the members together, know themselves and also strengthen the Dallazawa dynasty for it to remain relevant,’’ he said.

During the conference, some notable personalities were bestowed with awards for their efforts in moving Katsina State, the emirate, the Dallazawa dynasty as well as Nigeria forward.
