As family of the late Benin City-based business mogul, Captain Wells Idahosa Okunbo, popularly known as Captain Hosa prepares to give him a befitting burial, the Edo State Government has concluded arrangement to ensure that all who attend the burial are well-protected from Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The immediate younger brother of the deceased, Kingsley Okunbo disclosed this on Monday in Benin, while announcing arrangements put together by the family to honour his late brother with a befitting burial.

Kingsley disclosed that the State Government, the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), have all concluded arrangements to station ambulances and a COVID-19 vaccination centre around the burial areas.

He emphasized that all protective protocols for the dreaded disease would be strictly enforced during the burial ceremony slated to hold between October 5 and 9, at his country home Benin City.

“On Tuesday and Thursday, there would be tribute by friends and family, on Friday funeral service, Saturday social dance while on Sunday would be Thanksgivings.

“COVID-19 protocols would be strictly enforced. The State Government has said it will put ambulances and vaccination centre around the burial area.

“The same goes with University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). We are grateful to them,” he said.

The younger Okunbo who expressed appreciation to those who had come to condole and sympathise with them during the mourning period, disclosed that the family planned to thoroughly celebrate the life and times of Captain Hosa who he described as their brother and son, who had gone to rest with the Lord.

Ivie Atuwatse, daughter of Captain Hosa and wife of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, was present at the briefing.

The deceased who is better known as Capt. Hosa, died of cancer-related ailment in a London Hospital on August 7,  at the age of 63.
