Oyetola presents N129.7B 2022 budget to Osun Assembly

Governor Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has presented an Appropriation Bill of N129.7 Billion for 2022 to the House of Assembly.

The budget was Christened ‘Budget of Sustenance’.

Oyetola said the budget will make Osun a prosperous state.

He said the state will in 2022 focus on the collection of Internally Generated Revenue which will ensure the development of a workable budget.

The governor explained that his administration will boost IGR by attracting investors and foreign direct investment.

According to him, emphasis will be placed on capital and infrastructural development for growth.

Oyetola assured that as part of his administration’s commitment, no project will be left uncompleted.

He therefore promised to deliver all road projects before the end of 2022.

Speaker of the Assembly, Timothy Owoeye assured that the Assembly will be thorough in the consideration of the budget.

Owoeye urged the executive arm of government to strengthen the Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS) to meet with the demands of tax collection.

The Speaker enjoined the Osun State Government to consider the people and make them the core purpose of governance and implement development policies with intent to look inward without depending on federal allocation.
