Bayern Munich defender Josip Stanisic has received a contract renewal by two years until 2025, the Bundesliga champions said on Friday.
Munich-born Croatian, Stanisic is a 21-year-old, who has gone through the club’s academy and joined the first team this season and has been fielded nine times, mainly as a right-back. He has recently also made his debut in Croatia’s national team.
“I want to thank the club for their faith in me. I will try to continue riding the wave of recent months – they have been phenomenal for me and I’ve enjoyed every second,” Stanisic said in a club statement.
“My aims are very clear: I want to help the team as much as I can so that my good performances can help us win as many titles as possible.”
Bayern board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic said “we’re very pleased that we‘ve been able to integrate another talent from our FC Bayern campus into the first team.
“Josip has established himself so quickly. He has worked his way up and is a great addition’ Salihamidzic added.
