Gunmen attack Divisional Police Headquarters in Ebonyi

Scores of unknown gunmen have attacked the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

They attacked the security formation in the early hours of Monday and freed detainees in the station.

The assailants also set patrol vans in the station ablaze.

The attack plunged the area into chaos with officers and residents scampering around for safety.

Loveth Odah, Police Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi, confirmed the attack to journalists.

She said officers have been deployed to the affected station but did not give more details.
