Nigeria’s men’s national football team “Super Eagles” have lost their position in the FIFA men’s rankings for October.
According to the rankings published on Thursday, the Super Eagles moved from 34th to 36th globally.
However, Nigeria remains the fifth-ranked nation in Africa.
This followed their shock 1-0 defeat to the Central African Republic in the 2022 World Cup qualifier earlier in the month.
Gernot Rohr’s men would go on to beat CAR 2-0 in the reverse fixture of their doubleheader, but it was not enough to prevent them from dropping in the rankings.
Meanwhile, Belgium remains the number one ranked nation despite losing their two matches in the UEFA Nations League finals.
