Kwankwaso commissions rehab clinic to mark 65th birthday in Kano

Former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso has commissioned a private drug rehabilitation clinic in Kano to mark his 65th birthday.

The rehab clinic, Amana Sanatorium was commissioned on Thursday at Jido village on the outskirt of Kano Municipality along Kano-Wudil Federal Highway.

Amana Sanatorium is a multi-purpose clinic with a depression management section and a reformatory centre.

Kwankwaso said the reformatory center was established because people with drug problems require top-notch treatment and care.

He said in the clinic, the victims of drug abuse would be attended to by psychiatrist doctors, psychiatrist nurses, clinical psychologists, sociologists, psychotherapists, counselors and religious tutors.

The rehab also has an outdoor sports facility to help grow the mental health of inmates, as well as offering them the opportunity to learn skilled jobs in the modern workshop.

He noted that patients at the clinic would be treated for them to be reintegrated into the society
