Ikpeazu pledges N10m to Michael Okpara University

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has pledged N10 million for the upgrade of the health facility at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU).

Ikpeazu pledged on Saturday while receiving executives of the Students Union Government, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, led by their President, Comrade Chukwuma Ogochukwu.

During the visit, the SUG President presented a Thank-You letter to the Governor with the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof. A.C.B Agbazuere, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Comrade Chibuzor Ndom, among others present.

According to the governor, the money would be used to assist in improving health facilities in the institution to enable the students to have access to better quality healthcare services.

He directed the Commissioner for Works, Elder Bob Ogu to engage the contractor handling the Umuahia-Ikot-Ekpene Road to ensure that the bad spots along the road are fixed immediately.

In addition, Gov. Ikpeazu disclosed that his administration is working towards uplifting the educational standard of the state.

Meanwhile, he urged the students to be committed to their studies and always adopt dialogue as a strategy in all their engagements.

Earlier in his speech, the SUG President, Comrade Chukwuma Ogochukwu described Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as the most student-friendly Governor.

Ogochukwu appreciated the Governor for his swift response to ensuring that palliative works were carried out on the road even though it is a federal road.
