Manchester United are giving ‘serious consideration’ to sacking manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before the club’s next game, Manchester Evening News reports.

Solskjaer has been under fire at the club even before their recent 5-0 humiliation in the hands of rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

Solskjaer has overseen steady progress since he was appointed as successor to Jose Mourinho, initially as an interim choice, in December 2018.

United rewarded Solskjaer for presiding over ‘clear progress’ last season with a new three-year contract in July and the addition of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo to boost the squad.

It was their worst home defeat to their close rival.

They currently sit at number 7 with 14 points from 9 games.
