(Breaking) Secondus fails to stop PDP's Convention: Appeal Court gives go ahead

The Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Friday ruled that the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Convention can go on.

The case was filed by the suspended Chairman of the PDP Prince Uche Secondus against the party and 12 others.

Secondus is seeking the suspension of the forthcoming national convention of the party scheduled for this weekend pending the determination of the substantive appeal.

Justice Gabriel Kolawale delivered the ruling on Friday.

The Appeal Court dismissed the application brought before the court by Secondus seeking to stop the convention from taking place.

The panel ruled that the PDP’s convention scheduled for Saturday should go on.

The PDP had said it would go on with its congress, as the governors elected under the platform of the party are shopping for consensus candidates for the various offices of the party.
