Maiden edition of Afrobeats Music Festival to hold in Canada

The organizers of the Afrobeats Music Festival have announced that the first edition of the event will take place in Canada in 2022.

The event is scheduled to hold in July/August.

It will be the first of its kind in the history of African Music Space.

According to the organizers, Afrobeats Music Festival became necessary in order to celebrate Afrobeats’ uniqueness globally.

They said Canada is about to get a glimpse of what Africans especially West Africans are about when it comes to Afrobeats.

The “Afrobeats Music Festival-Canada 2022” will have top Nigerian and Diaspora artistes in attendance.

Also known as Afro-pop and Afro-fusion, Afro-beats has been one of biggest musical genres to originate from West Africa since the 1960s, from Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

At present, from well-known songs like Essence from Wizkid and Tems and Fall by Davido, Afro-beats is becoming a worldwide phenomenon.
