Nigerians celebrate #EndSARS promoter Rinu

Social media influencer and popular #EndSARS campaigner Oduala Olorunrinu, popularly known as Rinu is 23-year-old today.

To honour the youth activist, Nigerians have taken to various social media platforms to celebrate her, showering her with encomiums and prayers.

“Made it to 23 🎈Happy birthday, Rinu 🎊,” she tweeted.

The Lagos state university student Rinu had participated in the #EndSARS protest against police brutality in Nigeria was born on the 1st of November, 1998.

Rinu was selected as one of the representatives in the Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses & Lekki Toll Gate shooting that took place on the 20th of October 2020.

She later pulled out of the panel, saying it is obvious that the government is only out to use youth representatives for performative actions.

#EndSARS was not the first time, Rinu will get entangled in public affairs.

She was the convener of Operation Sanitise movement during the heat of the pandemic, sharing hand sanitizers to Nigerians.

She also joined the protest against rape, after the murder of UNIBEN student, Uwavera Omozuwa and Lagos lady, Tina Ezekwe.

Well meaning Nigerians also flooded their timeline with her pictures with prayers and birthday wishes.

Kingsley Moghalu, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and presidential candidate in the 2019 general election also celebrated Rinu on his page.

“Happy birthday @SavvyRinu . So young, yet so much impact. That’s why I support your hustle! At 23, it is, to paraphrase Chinua Achebe, morning yet on creation day for you,” he tweeted.
