Sanwo-Olu hits scene of building collapse; death toll rises to 22 (Video)

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday night visited the scene of the collapsed 21-storey building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.

This even as death toll rises to 22 as at 4:30am on Wednesday.

The building caved in on Monday afternoon with lots of people trapped in the rubbles.

Rescue operation has been on since Monday and today is the third day of the tragedy, as evacuation continues.

Sanwo-Olu, who had travelled out of the country, visited the scene late Tuesday night to admonish the emergency responders to continue the rescue, assuring them that government would support them.

The governor promised to also be at the collapsed building site later today to have a proper assessment of the disaster.
