Unai Emery confirms he will not go to Newcastle United

Former Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has confirmed that he will not be leaving Villareal for Newcastle.

Emery had on Tuesday said that he was approached by the new owners of Newcastle United.

Emery confirmed the development after his side beat Young Boys 2-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday, November 2.

“They have shown interest and I have not said no,” Emery said.

He added that “Before saying yes or not, I will talk to the club.”

However, Emery has now informed the owner of Villareal Fernando Roig that he has no intention to leave for Newcastle.

Marca reported that Owner Fernando Roig held talks with Emery on Wednesday.

Newcastle’s interest made many think that Emery would leave, given the new funds available to the north England club, who are now one of the wealthiest clubs in the sport.

Initially, it seemed that Emery entertained this idea and that Villarreal would not prevent him from leaving should he so desire.
