Abductors of two students of Glory Land Group of Schools in Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, have reportedly demanded the sum of N100 million to free the children.

The students were kidnapped on Tuesday at about 5.35 pm by yet to be identified gunmen, along Igarra-Auchi Road, near Ikpeshi.

The vehicle conveying the siblings alongside some other students, was intercepted at gun point and the abductors after identifying the children, dragged them out of the vehicle and released the others.

The abductors allegedly made contact with the distraught father of the students, Kola Momodu, on Thursday, three days after kidnapping the children.

Mr. Momodu who expressed worry over the safety of his children, had appealed for their safe release.

The State Police Command spokesman, SP Kontongs Bello, who confirmed the incident, had said that a combined security operatives and vigilantes were already combing the bush in an effort to rescue the kids.

“Two of the students were kidnapped but efforts are on to rescue them unhurt. Men of the Nigeria Police, Soldiers and vigilantes are already combing the bush to rescue the students,” he had said.
