The Imo House of Assembly has impeached its Speaker, Mr Paul Emeziem (APC-Onuimo), at a special sitting.
Emeziem’s removal followed a resolution signed by 19 out of the 27 members of the house.
Meanwhile, Mr Kennedy Ibeh (APC- Obowo), a second term member of the state Assembly, has emerged the new speaker.
The members, who conducted the special plenary under closed doors, hurriedly left the assembly premises thereafter.
The Deputy Speaker, Mr Amarachi Iwuanyanwu, was impeached on Nov. 2, following a resolution signed by 18 members.
