COVID-19: NCDC announces new COVID-19 cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said that Nigeria recorded 65 additional cases of COVID-19 infections and eight COVID-19 related deaths on Wednesday.

According to NCDC’s daily COVID-19 report on Thursday, the death toll from the virus now stood at 2,922.

The eight deaths represented a backlog from Edo State. The NCDC did not explain why Edo was late in presenting the data.

Also, it revealed that the total infection from the pandemic currently stood at 212,894.

A total of 204,675 Nigerians have been discharged across the country.

Among them were 328 cases, including community discharges reported from FCT for November 8th.

According to the agency, Plateau topped the latest infection chart with 22 cases.

FCT Abuja followed with 21. Ten of the cases were logged on 8 November, but not reported until yesterday.

Bauchi State recorded four cases, Lagos two cases while Kaduna, Bayelsa, Edo, Jigawa reported one case each.

Nigeria at the moment has 5,297 active COVID-19 cases, while a total of 3,392,457 blood samples have been tested since February 2020.
