Fayemi Congratulates  Soludo on Election Victory

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on his victory in the 6 November Anambra governorship election

Fayemi, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) said democracy was the real winner at the Anambra election with the successful and peaceful conduct of the process.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, the Ekiti Governor said the will of the people of Anambra State which was expressed through the ballot box has prevailed.

Dr. Fayemi hailed all stakeholders including the electorate, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, election observers, political parties and their agents for working together to deliver an election that was devoid of violence.

He praised the people of Anambra State for their perseverance and tenacity of purpose in participating in the poll despite some technical hitches that are recorded and ensuring that their votes count.

While congratulating Prof. Soludo on his victory, Dr. Fayemi urged the Anambra Governor-elect to extend his hand of fellowship to all the seventeen other flag bearers noting that with the conclusion of the poll, they should all work together for the development of the State.

He urged the winning party and its candidate to be magnanimous in victory and other parties and their candidates who were not successful to see their participation as enriching the whole process.

The Governor also hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for making available an enabling environment for the successful conduct of the poll and abiding by his promise to always allow the will of Nigerians to prevail in the choice of who governs them.

Dr. Fayemi expressed confidence that Ekiti, which is the next State where the governorship election will be conducted, will witness a peaceful, transparent and successful electoral process as experienced in Anambra.
