Travis Scott Astroworld concert death toll increases

Travis Scott Astroworld Festival stampede has killed the ninth victim, a 22 year-old student at Texas A&M University.

The student, Bharti Shahani died after clinging to life at a Texas hospital for five days, the victim’s family said.

The New York Post quoting abc13.com. reported she succumbed to injuries at Houston Methodist Hospital on Wednesday night, her family’s attorney confirmed.

Shahani, who suffered multiple heart attacks during the crowd surge, was placed on a ventilator with no brain activity shortly after arriving at the hospital, the station reported.

Shahani went to the concert Friday with her sister Namrata Shahani and cousin Mohit Bellani and became separated from them when thousands of fans rushed the stage during a Travis Scott performance.

“Once one person fell, people started toppling like dominos. It was like a sinkhole. People were falling on top of each other,” Bellani said.

“There were like layers of bodies on the ground, like two people thick. We were fighting to come up to the top and breathe to stay alive.
