The Napj-produced track, taken from his forthcoming debut EP, is a gorgeous slice of sun-drenched Afrobeat and a classic African love song.
Teeze described the song as “a love letter to people of colour – women, men and non-binaries, in all shapes and sizes across the globe”.
In an electric new video directed by Above Ground and Metallic Inc which is now out on all streaming platforms, the ‘BADI’ visuals, loosely inspired by 00s Nollywood classic films and starring both artistes, is a dream to behold!
In true new Nollywood style, this love song by Alté rockstar Teezee who brings the energy god, Davido in a sound combination to create this smash hit — a celebration of love for women of colour and all types of shapes and sizes — is one of those heartwarming songs whose message stays with you.
Teezee speaks with conviction that “BADI is a huge ode to the beautiful women of colour around the world. This entire track is for more than just looks, it’s for the hustler aunties, mums, women in general. My sound has been inspired by all the amazing women in our lives”.
